Belightful Yoga’s professional development session proved valuable in supporting many of our school district’s physical and occupational therapists. The interactive training provided us with experiential learning and useful tools to implement immediately to positively impact the well-being of our students with special needs. We’re planning now to have Belightful come back for a longer session – we couldn’t get enough!
- Kim Gollon, MA PT, Physical Therapist, Macomb Intermediate School District
We reached out to Belightful Yoga to offer our students something that goes beyond the traditional gym class — a weekly yoga enrichment class that provides relaxation (where we take time “in”), builds self esteem, and supports physical wellbeing by focusing on breathing, visualization, yoga poses and games.

I am 94 years old and still mentally alert, although my body is consumed with arthritis. The Belightful instructor helps every individual...she explains everything thoroughly and demonstrates each move. She accommodates students...or those of us who have balance or leg issues... just love it and I'm staying with it even though each move is very hard for me...I love the class.

We continue to believe that supporting a wellness culture for our employees, by offering programs like Belightful Yoga at the workplace, make a difference for our employees in their stress level and productivity. This impacts employee retention and ultimately, affects our bottom line which doesn’t hurt either!

Our teachers and staff are on the frontlines of creating a healthy educational community, via physical, social-emotional, and academic initiatives. So why wouldn’t we want our employees to receive that very same support through wellness initiatives, like Belightful Yoga, that reduce stress and increase employee productivity?
- Bryan Opalko, Human Resources Generalist, Cranbrook Educational Community
Belightful integrated into our corporate wellness culture using impactful tools that were customized for our specific business needs. Their staff shared at company meetings and health fairs and provided trainings to key personnel and classes including mindfulness and movement techniques to support our production and executive teams. They understood our culture in a way that was very beneficial to our employee’s well-being.

Through the year-long Belightful Yoga curriculum, students come to understand that yoga is about them learning to be the best students they can be. Students understand that quality yoga breath and yoga movement help them maintain the healthy balance all students need in order to achieve. It is the school's finding that through Belightful Yoga students are empowered to maintain concentration, to handle stressors, and to build their own sense of self.
- Former Head of Middle School at University Liggett School
I like stretching and relaxing. It makes me feel happy.
- Josh, age 12
With the support of Belightful Yoga’s classes, my nine year old son has been able to reduce his medications and I’ve seen much less anxiety. Jordan enjoys the camaraderie with the other students. He uses the relaxation and breathing tools he learns to help him throughout his week.
- Patrice, Macomb County
I needed a gentler yoga practice due to having a lung transplant 13 months ago...I am enjoying the gentle flow which is very focused on breath, which is very important to me considering my recent operation.
- Judy, West Bloomfield
Belightful's yoga session with my 8-year-old's Brownie Troop was terrific. The girls really benefited from practicing the breathing and relaxation techniques of yoga. The session focus on grade-school pressures and friendship hurdles was also helpful to them. It was so enjoyable, we ended up doing a Mother/Daughter series!
- Patty, Troop Leader
We had Belightful come out and do yoga with our Youth Coalition. It was fantastic. Kids that had never tried yoga before participated fully and really enjoyed it. They now want to have a yoga class as an after-school option.
